We've had a busy month at Stock! Can you believe it's nearly November? We are very ready for crispy, cold days and cozy evenings but, boy, have we made the most of October!
We welcomed The Providence Lady Project and RI Girls Pint out to the store this month for the third annual Stocktoberfest.
Benefiting the RI Food Bank, we asked attendees to bring donations to the event and they certainly delivered. Daniele, who were kind enough to feed us as well, donated a huge stack of delicious boxes, and our donation bag was full with donations by the end of the night.
As for us, we were lucky enough to sample some delicious brews from local Crooked Current Brewery, and some tasty wines from Campus Fine Wines. Whilst appetites were sated by Foremost Baking Company Pretzels, Daniele charcuterie and Holly Likes to Cook bundt cake.
A 3x3 presentation (three minute speech by three different ladies) on the subject of entertaining this holiday season, topped off the night.
Andrea Sloan of Campus Fine Wines gave us the low down on which wines will woo guests. Nicole Pelletier of Crooked Current Brewery spoke about family traditions influencing her seasonal brews and Holly Vine of Holly Likes to Cook gave some top tips on how to be a host with the most, or the best guest, at any party.
Most recently we hosted our very first Wishlist Party!
What is a Wishlist Party? Well, it's the chance to commit to paper all those times you see a beautiful thing and lust after it, why should newlyweds get all the registry fun?
Guests were treated to some fabulous Fall Fizz poured by the wonderful Andrea, of Campus Fine Wines, and Willa Van Nostrand of Little Bitte; fresh shucked oysters; and an amazing coffee and pumpkin cake baked by our very own JWU culinary wiz Cody!
It was a night for wishing and our guests did us proud, the store was buzzing with excited people and the first fizz of the holiday season was lingering in the air!
In fact we had so much fun we're thinking about doing it again next month! We'll keep you posted on details!
